• Multi-instrumentalist and modern progressive mastermind Steven Wilson’s 2011 opus.
• Steven Wilson, four-time Grammy nominee, multi-instrumentalist, producer, author and founding member of Porcupine Tree returned in 2011 with his second studio album ‘Grace For Drowning’.
• Sonically, the album is a departure from the more straight ahead approach of his 2009 debut Insurgentes and instead favours ideas of Progressive Rock paying homage to the early 70’s and late 60’s. Wanting to push the envelope of his song writing ability ever further, tracks like 23 minute ‘Raider II’ sprawl out but never lose focus of Wilson’s genius song writing ability seen on the likes of ‘Deform to Form A Star’.
• Alongside Wilson appears an all-star cast made up of Jordan Rudess (Dream Theater), Tony Levin (King Crimson), Steve Hackett (Genesis) as well as the London Session Orchestra who performed strings on the album.
• The 83 minute album explores territories that would go on to be investigated further on 2013’s ‘The Raven That Refused To Sing’, reaching #28 in the UK charts and #3 in Germany. After a succession of solo records, Wilson returned with the Progressive Rock luminaries, Porcupine Tree, to release CLOSURE // CONTINUATION which reached #2 in the UK Album Chart and saw the band perform at major festivals across Europe. Most recently Steven released his latest solo effort, ‘The Harmony Codex’, once more to critical acclaim and reached #1 in the UK Rock & Metal Chart, #3 in Germany and #4 in the UK Album Chart.
