• ‘For Earth Below’, the third studio album by British guitar legend Robin Trower, was released in 1975 and is considered one of his most important works from his time as a solo artist after leaving Procol Harum. For Earth Below built on the success of the previous album ‘Bridge of Sighs’, consolidated his position as a touring artist in the USA and reached number 5 in the Billboard charts. Following the departure of Reg Isadore, the exciting Bill Lordan (Sly & The Family Stone) joined the band shortly before the recording of this album and gave the band new impetus.
• To celebrate the 50th anniversary of this classic, Chrysalis Records presents the most comprehensive edition of the album to date, featuring the original album remastered using the AIR mastering process, a newly discovered extended stereo mix of the entire album, a disc of outtakes, rarities and BBC sessions, most of which were previously unreleased, and a remixed Los Angeles concert recording from the For Earth Below tour, never before available in its entirety. The centrepiece of the package is a booklet with newly written liner notes by renowned journalist David Sinclair and interviews with Robin Trower and Bill Lordan.
