Matt Bianco, the chart toppers who fueled British jazz-pop in the 1980s with top 10 hits such as "Yeh Yeh", "Get Out Of Your Lazy Bed" and "Half A Minute", are back with their seventeenth album. "Masquerader" delves deep into the band's Latin, jazz and pop roots - with fresh vigor and a modern production approach on singles such as the Latin club track "Playing With Dynamite", the restless "Wanderlust", the samba-soul piece "Deep Space" and the dancehall tango-inspired groove of the title track. Frontman Mark Reilly's smooth vocals set the tone, while the beats combine influences from across the Caribbean and South America with organic lounge and club sounds.
• The album features a stellar line-up of talent, including Brazilian guitar virtuoso and Verve artist Ricardo Silveira and Venezuelan vocalist Lino G Rocha, who bring an authentic Latin flair, while London's soul queen Betty Black (Keb Darge, Snowboy, Bluey) and renowned saxophonist Dave O'Higgins add their own unique styles.
